Congratulations to Linda Meagher for another trial victory! Plaintiff alleged that a medical resident broke a drain off, no one told him about it, and the drain caused a massive infection resulting in six surgeries. The defense established that the infection was likely the result of the original surgery, which had a very high infection rate or the plaintiff picking at the wound. The jury was asked only about informed consent and found the defendant doctor was not negligent in giving informed consent.
